Today’s America has inherited generational wounds from racism, violence and poverty. Over time, the trauma of these wounds has made a dehumanizing impact on many of us as individuals and on all of us as a society. By developing a more comprehensive and thoughtful understanding of our own past, we can re-humanize the present and heal our future.
To demonstrate this process of transformation we imagine American society as a human body – a metaphor woven through out the story to better visualize historic illness and cultural stresses of race-based trauma in order to identify opportunities for healing.
This project creates an opportunity to serve the nation in the work of healing our wounded union by creating a high-quality, expert-informed, and yet broadly-accessible documentary on what it will take to repair racial Truth, Power and Wealth in America.

Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.
